WILD GENDER: I GOT BULLIED FOR HAVING TOP SURGERY, Written by Ryan Cassata

I’m an 18 year old transgender female to male and I had top surgery two months ago to lessen the amount of gender dysphoria I experience. It helped. I haven’t had a single gender or body related panic attack since my surgery. I haven’t mentally broken down about my body. I haven’t pitied myself for being trans. The amount of bottom related dysphoria has also declined immensely. I feel great. I feel better than I have in my entire life.

Yes, you may call me lucky. I am lucky. I happen to have two parents who became exceptionally supportive within just three years of my coming out, who generously helped pay for my top surgery. I will never be able to thank them enough for the dream and comfort that they have allowed me to live.

However, I have been experiencing a significant amount of hate due to envious and jealous feelings that others hold. In the past two weeks, four transgender (female to male) individuals have attacked me with harsh words. After being, nothing but nice, back to these people, they all openly admitted that their hatefulness towards me stemmed from nothing but pure jealousy due to the fact that I had gotten top surgery and they hadn’t. This saddened me a lot.

I do understand where these people come from though.
